HRIS, Payroll, and Attendance Software

Payroll is the least forgiving system in a company. It runs on a fixed date, it touches every employee, and a single wrong rule becomes a very public problem. That is why HR software cannot be bought on features alone — it has to match your shift patterns, allowances, and compliance obligations exactly.

Nagatama builds HRIS and payroll systems for companies operating in Indonesia, where BPJS Kesehatan, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, PPh 21, THR, and regional minimum wages all shape the calculation. Our HRD-X product line has been running these rules in production for years.

The design principle is simple: attendance data, payroll calculation, and the accounting journal must come from one chain, so nobody has to reconcile three systems by hand at the end of the month.

Modules We Deliver

Employee database and org structure

Personal data, contracts, positions, placements, documents with expiry reminders, and a complete employment history for every person.

Attendance, shifts, and leave

Rotating shifts, tiered overtime, GPS and selfie attendance, biometric device integration, leave balances, and the approval chain behind each request.

Payroll and statutory deductions

Salary components, allowances, deductions, BPJS, PPh 21, THR, and prorated calculations, with payslips distributed digitally and a payroll register finance can audit.

Employee self-service and approvals

A mobile-first app for attendance, leave, payslips, reimbursements, and announcements, so HR stops being a message inbox.

Governance and Segregation of Duties

Payroll processors and payroll approvers are separate roles, journal creators and finance approvers are separate roles, and no single account can both create and release a payment. Every change to a salary component, attendance record, or approval decision is written to an immutable audit trail with the actor, timestamp, and previous value. Multi-company and multi-tenant structures are supported for business groups and HR service providers.

Technology We Use

PostgreSQL with row-level security so each company only ever sees its own data, edge server functions for calculation, a signed HMAC bridge to accounting systems with anti-replay and idempotency, and export formats for bank payroll uploads and statutory reporting.

How We Work

Every project runs through the same five stages, so you always know where the work stands and what you receive at each step.

1. Discovery and requirements analysis

We map your business processes, user roles, the data that flows between them, and the legacy systems that must stay alive. The output is an agreed requirements document with a prioritised module list.

2. Architecture and interface design

Database schema, permission model, integration flows, and screen designs come first. Prototypes are validated with key users so big changes happen while they are still cheap.

3. Incremental development per module

Work runs in short sprints. Each sprint produces a version your team can genuinely try in a test environment — not a progress percentage on a slide.

4. Testing, security, and UAT

Functional testing, load testing, permission review, and User Acceptance Testing with real users. Findings are fixed before the system is declared production ready.

5. Deployment, training, and maintenance

Production release, data migration, user training, documentation, monitoring, plus maintenance and continued development packages sized to your company.

Where We Deliver

Nagatama serves companies across Indonesia — Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Makassar, and Medan — and works with clients in Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia. Collaboration is remote-first with scheduled online meetings, a demo every sprint, and on-site visits for projects that need field observation such as warehouses, plants, or branch offices. English is a working language for documentation, meetings, and delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the payroll follow Indonesian regulation?

Yes. BPJS Kesehatan and Ketenagakerjaan, PPh 21 with the current tariff scheme, THR, overtime rules, and regional minimum wages are implemented and updated as regulation changes.

Can it integrate with our fingerprint or face recognition machines?

Yes. We integrate common attendance devices directly or through their export files, and combine them with mobile GPS attendance for staff outside the office.

Can payroll results post straight into accounting?

Yes. Approved payroll can flow into double-entry journals, payments, and reconciliation automatically — this is exactly what our NagaBridge integration hub does between HRD-X and NagaFinance.

How is employee data protected?

Data is isolated per company at the database level, access is granted by role, sensitive fields are restricted even for administrators, and every read of a payslip or personal record is logged.

Can we migrate from our current HR system?

Yes. We map and import employee master data, leave balances, and payroll history, then run a parallel payroll cycle so both systems can be compared before switching over.
