Business process discovery
User interviews, current-state workflow mapping, bottleneck analysis, and verifiable requirements. This stage decides whether a project succeeds or merely moves chaos onto a new screen.
Nagatama is an Indonesian software studio delivering custom software development end to end — requirement discovery, architecture, engineering, testing, production deployment, and long-term maintenance. We have shipped more than twenty enterprise products across HR, finance, logistics, security, and applied AI, and we operate several of them ourselves.
The difference between custom software and a packaged product is ownership of the workflow. When the system follows your process instead of the other way around, teams stop patching gaps with spreadsheets, chat groups, and duplicated work — which is where the largest hidden costs usually live.
A few signals usually appear together. Critical data still travels between departments as spreadsheet attachments and no single version can be trusted. The licensed package you bought is only half used, because half of its features are irrelevant while the ones you truly need are missing. Approvals happen manually, so there is no audit trail when something goes wrong. Or the company has grown into multiple branches and legal entities that the legacy system was never designed to handle. If two or more of these sound familiar, building custom is normally cheaper over a three-year horizon than continuing to patch.

Relational schemas that protect data integrity, multi-tenant strategy where needed, role and permission models, and a scalability plan for user and transaction growth.
Transaction modules, management dashboards, reporting, notifications, and configuration — built from one consistent component system so the product feels whole, not stitched together.
Connecting the new platform to accounting software, attendance hardware, payment gateways, messaging channels, and third-party APIs, including failure handling and retry queues.
Moving historical data out of spreadsheets and legacy systems with cleansing, mapping, validation, and rehearsal runs before the real cutover.
Authentication, role-based authorisation, row-level data scoping, immutable activity logs, and encryption in transit and at rest.
We map processes, users, data flows, and the legacy systems that must keep running, then agree a prioritised requirement set.
Database schema, access model, integration paths, and UI prototypes validated with key users before production code is written.
Short sprints, each ending with a version your team can actually use in a test environment — not a progress percentage.
Functional testing, load testing, permission checks, and User Acceptance Testing with real users before production sign-off.
Production release, data migration, training, documentation, monitoring, and an ongoing enhancement plan.
We build on a modern, maintainable stack: React and TypeScript on the front end, PostgreSQL with row-level security as the primary datastore, a modern server runtime for business logic, and REST plus realtime APIs for integration. Deployments run through automated pipelines with isolated staging environments, and every system ships with monitoring and an audit log. Where intelligent features are needed, large language models are connected through a governed AI gateway so AI can be added without redesigning the architecture.
These are production systems we designed, built, and still operate. Browse the full collection on the Nagatama portfolio.

Custom software development is the process of designing, building, and maintaining an application shaped around one organisation's exact workflow instead of a generic package. It covers requirement discovery, data architecture, development, testing, deployment, and long-term maintenance.
Cost is driven by the number of modules, integration complexity, and required security level. We provide a tiered estimate after a short discovery session, and large scopes can be split module by module so investment is spread and the system goes live sooner.
A first usable module is typically ready in 4–8 weeks. A full enterprise suite is delivered progressively over several months, with a working release each sprint rather than a single big-bang launch.
Yes. Full ownership of code and data is agreed in the contract, including repository handover, technical documentation, and infrastructure credentials at delivery.
Yes. We regularly integrate with accounting systems, attendance devices, payment gateways, WhatsApp, email, and third-party APIs. Where no API exists, we build scheduled database or file-based synchronisation with retry handling.
A bug-fix warranty period follows handover, then an optional monthly maintenance plan covering monitoring, security updates, and a reserved allocation of development hours for enhancements.
Tell us the process you want to fix. You will get a recommended module breakdown, a realistic timeline, and a tiered budget range — with no charge for the first consultation.
